Newborn Photography 1:1 Workshop
We welcomed back a past mentee for 1:1 hands-on training last week. We booked in 3 newborn baby models so that our mentee could take part in the full newborn experience!
Our first baby was the sleepiest little chap and was a doddle to pose. He was wrapped for the prop shots and moved seamlessly onto the beanbag for our timeless poses. We showed how to pose baby in the huck, side, head on hands side pose, bum up and the finale shot, which parents love, the head on hands forward facing shot. Our mentee was an expert at wrapping and just needed confidence to pose baby on the beanbag. We reminded her of the camera angles for each pose so that she could create a gallery full of images for the parents.
Second baby was a little more challenging. Baby needed some feeding, and a little more comfort feeding and then just a dummy to keep her settled for each pose. The dummy didn’t stay in long but it did mean that we could capture the images that parents were so looking forward to. We did have to depart from our usual posing flow to keep baby happy but again, a full gallery of images.
Last baby for the afternoon was mostly settled and our mentee was able to revisit the poses she wanted to really nail. Again, back over camera angles and once more a gallery full of images for the parents.
A very successful day! One happy mentee and about 100 images for Sandra to go through to pick out the best for editing.
If you want to learn how to create lovely newborn poses why not book a 1:1 or a group workshop. We run them from our studio near Manchester but also in Glasgow, Northumberland, Northern Ireland and hopefully back to London soon!
